Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences

Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences is the only state higher educational institution in Šiauliai county that provides higher college education. The Institution started its operation in 2002 by the order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania to merge Šiauliai Higher School of Medicine and Šiauliai Higher Technical School into Šiauliai College. In 2014 Šiauliai State College became the first Lithuanian college to sign the European Charter for Researchers. In 2018 Šiauliai State College will award the 10,000th diploma.

Scientific journal “Professional Studies: Theory and Practice” contains scientific researches and theoretical insights of the authors of Lithuanian and foreign higher education institutions, covering theoretical and practical scientific knowledge discourse in humanities, social, biomedical and technological sciences. The editorial staff consists of Lithuanian and foreign scholars of six countries. The journal has been published since 2005.

The journal is indexed in EBSCO Academic Search Complete since 2013.

The journal “Applied Scientific Research” is a registered periodical peer-reviewed scientific journal of Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences, published since 2022. Its uniqueness among other scientific journals is its orientation towards the results of original applied research. The focus is on the high international scientific level, the aim is to attract the solid publications of Lithuanian and foreign researchers.

The journal publishes articles written in Lithuanian or English. Articles are published on the Internet of the Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences. Publication of articles is free. The scientific journal is published in two issues a year. Cumulative dialing is applied: an article that has passed the review and editing procedures is published immediately, without waiting for the full issue to be published.
