About the University

Founded in 1991 in Klaipėda, Lithuania, LCC International University is a leading liberal arts institution, modeled on North American educational principles and grounded in Christian values. Its mission is to foster global leaders through a diverse, intercultural academic community, with students from over 50 countries.

LCC’s curriculum emphasizes interdisciplinary studies, critical thinking, and practical skills, preparing students for meaningful careers and civic engagement. In 2013, LCC established the Institute for Philanthropy, advancing research in philanthropy through the academic journal Philanthropia and international collaborations.

Today, LCC remains dedicated to empowering students for global citizenship and transformative leadership.

The mission of Philanthropia is to advance the understanding of philanthropy and civil society from the perspectives of the humanities and normative theory.

Toward that end, we publish this bi-annual, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal under the auspices of the Institute for Philanthropy of LCC International University. We invite article submissions from disciplines such as History, Philosophy, Literary Studies, Religious Studies, Classical Studies, Theology, Linguistics, Anthropology, Ethics, Communications, Rhetoric, and Political Theory.
